Definite confirmation of Danny Barnes on three songs: Cockadile, Spaceman, and Skworm.
The fact that it's spelled "Skworm".
There's some "atmosphere" to the album: the barking dog, the fruit & veggie vendor.
This quote: "I tend toward the optimistic, but there's a lot [about] life and death on the record, a lot of reflection and searching in the lyrics." I think that balance of life/death and optimism has been at the core of some of their best songs; the upbeat sounding song that has a different meaning when you really listen to the lyrics. Well unfortunately that's just going to make everyone speculate as to what was going on behind the scenes. (part of being a fan I know). From my history of bands and everything, I'd say a lot of bands go through this. The band took what, nearly 4 + years to get this out, and back in 2007 we were given hints at a new album, only to have the previous producer given the boot? I can see how there'd be some internal stryfe.

I think it's good for them to say this openly because it sounds like they've gotten past it, which is great!
