Default One year ago-Big Whiskey-how do you feel now? (merged)

It's been about a year when we started to get little samples of the up coming release - they played MSG - others on the spring tour - everyone was excited - hard to belive but it's been a year - official release I think was beginning of June - but by that time we heard it all.

How do you feel one year later?

Me - I think seven has risen to the top. I've seen most of the songs live last year. I don't think SMLAM is everything eveyone hoped for esp.live IMO. FTWII was played to death. It's going to be interesting if they continue over the next few years what songs they will carry on the play list.

1. LITHOG
2. SMLAM
3. MBB / WIA (tie)
4. Alligator Pie
5. Time Bomb
6. Spaceman
7. FTWII
8. You & Me
9. Squirm
10. Seven

Overall I have been pleased with the live performances of this album. Full band anyway. Squirm D&T did nothing for me at all. I loved LITHOG and SMLAM D&T however.

I like that you just ignored the abomination that is Dive In. Squirm has always been my favorite of Big Whiskey, and that's still the case.

Squirm
Why I Am
Time Bomb
LITHOG
Spaceman
Baby Blue
You & Me
Funny
Seven
SMLAM
Alligator Pie
Dive In

I love me some Seven! I love Shake Me like a Monkey (studio) as for live, I thought the Vegas w/ Tim Reynolds was awesome. I could see Why I Am, You & Me, SMLAM, Seven, & FTWII being played regularly. Squirm and Lying in the Hands of God may stick around just not as often. I feel songs like Spaceman & Dive in will become rare.

I'm still happy that I still love this album... one year later. I still listen to it straight thru on a regular basis... Seven grew on me after hating it originally... You and Me from the Grammys still sits with me as mind-blowing... Shake Me is still my favorite by far on this album, gets me going everytime. Here's my quick rankings that I feel comfortable with for BWGK.

Shake Me
You and Me
Alligator Pie
Time Bomb
LITHOG
Baby Blue
Seven
Spaceman
Squirm
Funny
Why I Am
Dive In

I too still really enjoy this album, though I find myself listening to shows from last year as opposed to listening to the studio album. Seven and Shake Me were an instant loves for me and continue to be, while Squirm and Alligator Pie have grown to be my favorites live.

Seven
Squirm
Alligator Pie
Shake Me
Time Bomb
Baby Blue
LITHOG
Spaceman
Why I Am

It'll be a whole other story if I get into the D&T versions,... so I'll just stick with full band.

Spaceman - First time I heard it, was live at MSG and I couldn't stop gushing over how much I loved it. Whenever I hear it, I think of that moment.
Lying in the Hands of God
Alligator Pie
Shake Me
Squirm
Baby Blue
Funny
Seven
Dive In
Why I am
You & Me
Time Bomb

For the record, I really like Dive in.
