Dave Newbie - Ideas for Mix Compilation CD (merged)
alright, so sometimes, ill run into someone who has never heard any dmb, and theyll say, well, what do they sound like. so at this point i pull out my ipod, and play them a song. but what song?
for me, its either #41, crush, dancing nancies, or two step, but i err on the side of crush what about y'all?

i always use something that theyve probably heard before jsut didnt know it was DMB like Ants Marching. And they'll usually say "Oh Yeah! I've heard this before."

I usually go with Crush, if the arent a fan of DMB its a pretty safe song to play to get them to like DMB. Everybody loves Crush, how can you not love it?

I told a friend who was clueless as to what dmb was all about so i told him to download UTTAD and he is now a member of this site

either #41, ddtw or ants...although i'd like to go with something like spoon, stay or leave, or i'll back you up, but i get the feeling that those wouldn't go over so well - i'd rather let someone listen to a fast paced song they can get into it, then show them the "other sides" to dmb!

i'd say one sweet world has a great mellow feeling, my friends aren't big dave fans but they can always go for one sweet- they're into nature and all (sleeping outside, we do it a lot) so that's one they always want to hear. also, i agree about ants. most people in the world like that song

It depends on the person...I go by what sounds they dig and I give em a song/album that I know will appeal to their tastes to get them hooked! Ha, I sound like a drug dealer...

I made a cd for a friend who was just getting into DMB, I put a couple songs from each album.. more of the well known ones, but now I am going to make another for her with some others, now that she really likes the band.. took her to her first show this year.
