My friend Joe and I were terrible spellers back in elementary school. I remember one day he didn't get his spelling test back when the teacher Mrs. Jay gave them back and she told him to stay after class. So I (being his best friend) waited behind too while he talked to Mrs. Jay about his spelling test. Turns out, Joe spelled the word shirt wrong. Now, she wasn't talking to him because she was worried he was a moron for spelling shirt wrong. It was how he spelled shirt that concerned her. Turns out he forgot the ever so important 'r' in shirt and she was worried that he did it on purpose. To this day I ask Joe how to spell shirt.
