Weekly Davespeak's Exclusive Photos of Dave Matthews Band at The Gorge 2006

September 12th, 2006

DMB's Greatest Hits and MissesWeekly Davespeak had the exclusive opportunity to photograph Dave Matthews Band from the Pit (directly in front of the stage) thanks to a photo credential from Red Light Management.

This is our second year photographing the band live at the gorge and we're grateful for RLM providing us access to capture the guys on film.

You can check out our photos from last year, in the 2005 DMB Gorge Amphitheatre Photo page. We released only thirteen images last year.

This year we're making eighty high-resolution photographs available for downloading. They are available in batches of 4 batches of 20 photos. All photos were taken by Bryan Rosengrant...

Cool Drawing of DMB Song and Lyric Imagery

July 24th, 2006

Cool DMB ArtThis is kind of cool. We put this out in a newsletter a long time ago but it has made something of a resurgence after the thread was recently topped. Being on tour break it seemed like a good time to highlight an original contribution froma the fan community.

Jason G. aka Bonez89 put some time into coloring the illustration using a paint program, you can also get a copy of his contribution using the link below..

When asked about the long process of filling in each detail, means Jason had a good morning

2005 DMB Warehouse Ticket Scans
June 20th, 2005

One of the 2005 Warehouse Tickets

Here are scans of the four different warehouse tickets from for the 2005 summer tour. We won't be posting repeats of the tickets like we did last year.

We are looking for any alternative tickets you might have: a ticketmaster version, any VIP / Box Seat (sometimes oversized) tickets. Pictures of any special bracelets or badges are also cool...

A Selection of Photos
November 11th, 2005

We thought it would be a good idea to throw up just a few pictures of Vegoose, given its epic introduction not so long ago, and the awesome result of the click-through contest. There are tons of pictures from the festival available on the web, here is a subset of ours.

Dave Matthews KBCO/Denver Interview about Red Rocks
October 2nd , 2005

DMB 2005 Winter Tour DatesOn 9/20/05 Dave Matthews was interviewed by KBCO's Bret Saunders about Red Rocks, Farm Aid, a new Red Rocks DVD, and recent satire in The Onion.

Dave Matthews: Hey. How are you doing Bret?

KBCO: Fine man.

KBCO: I heard you were really battling a virus or two while you were here in Colorado.

DM: Oh no I wasn’t. I was healthy as I could be. I just have to, when I’m uh not accustomed to the thin air and the altitude then uh I have to sort of take a little extra care of myself so that I don’t blow it all out in the 1st night...

American Baby Mashup Kit
March 16th, 2005

Mashup Dave Matthews BandA mash-up is a track where the vocals from one song have been mixed over the music of a different track. Also known as "Bastard Pop," Mashups were originally performed live using turntables and DJ mixers, but advancements in audio sequencing software have allowed an entirely new art form to take hold.

In 2001, a DJ named Freelance Hellraiser put together The Strokes "Hard To Explain" and Christina Aguilera's "Genie In A Bottle," calling the track "A Stroke of Genieus." This was an underground sensation and helped give new life to the Bastard Pop / mashup genre...

Classic WDS: Dave Matthews, David Bowie and Lil' Jon on Too Much
November 5th, 2006

Lil' Jon What? Yeah! We've been hard at work getting a new backend for Weekly Davespeak up and running. With luck, updates will resume this coming week. Until then, check out this classic WDS from 8/23/04:

There's been some confusion about what exactly has been going on with the outro to Too Much recently. DMB Almanac has been listing it with "extended scat outro with Golden Years outro and Lil' John's "YEAH! WHAT? YEAH! OK!" interpolation"

This special extended scat outro for Too Much is a combination Dave cooked up from mixing lyrics from David Bowie's Golden Years and throwing in rapper/producer Lil' Jon's famous interjections.

What?!? Not a Bowie fan, and haven't heard of Lil' Jon?

This Footnote Continues...
