New Carter Beauford Video, Acapella Old Dirt Hill, New Dave Interview

March 20th, 2006

Carter BeaufordBeauford Records New Instructional Video

Carter Beauford is filming a follow-up video to his Under the Table and Drumming DVD. RLM is currently taking questions from "drum enthusiasts" for inclusion in the video. You can send questions about Carter's drumming style and techniques to carterquestions@redlightmanagement.com.

You may remember an article Justin "BeaufordBuddy" Scott wrote for us last year about Carter's Drum Kit Setup. Worth another look if you haven't seen it yet.

New from the Pezzshow

Ben Pezzner, an old friend of Weekly Davespeak recently released his take on Old Dirt Hill. Ben does his acappella versions of DMB tunes on his own, layering his voice track after track. We interviewed Ben in August of '04, and he provided a very cool tutorial on how he builds these songs. His a capella demo of Drive In Drive Out is pretty cool.

Dave and Mr TNew Dave Interview

Dave did a new interview from Virginia on the 3/9/06. He spoke with a DJ from Holland about the first album they did with Mark Batson and his family's relationship Julia Roberts'.

Interestingly, there are no questions or talk of the album he is currently recording. It must have been a bit awkward to rehash questions about an album that is well in the can while working on something new. There's commentary about the interview and a link to download the mp3 in this thread.

Sadness, Closure

Dave Matthews Band fan Grania Maggio was struck and killed by a drunk driver after the July 2nd DMB show at SPAC last year. The driver was not at the show, and was caught shortly after leaving the scene of the accident. Discussion and an article link here.
