Dave Matthews In New Adam Sandler Film: "You Don't Mess with the Zohan"

Dave Matthews is in Los Angeles this week to take part in Adam Sandler's newest film, "You Don't Mess with the Zohan." Zohan is a film about a Mossad agent who fakes his death so he can move to New York and become hair stylist.
This is Dave's second role in a major motion picture starring Adam Sandler. In "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" Dave had a non-speaking cameo as a gay employee at a lingerie store.
In Zohan, Dave will be playing a "red neck terrorist" and will be on set for three days of shooting. The film is being directed by Dennis Dugan and will shoot through the month of December.
Dave has been associated with Sandler for some time now. The music video for DMB's "Where Are You Going" featured scenes from another Sandler film, "Mr. Deeds."
Dave's acting has been frequent enough at this point to indicate a pattern. a pattern Beyond Happy Madison, Dave has had a string of high-profile roles recently, including a guest spot on House that aired in March of this year. He is playing the role of Colonel Schreck in a film titled "The Other Side" which according to IMDB is to begin shooting in the month of November.
Dave's film company, ATO Pictures had its first big win at Sundance this year with an Excellence in Cinematography award for the film "Joshua." He also went maverick a few months ago in working directly with Fenton Williams to produce the music video for "Eh Hee."
The obvious question seems to be how has his focus on motion pictures affected his time for song writing on his own and with the band. Time will tell whether Dave has been multi-tasking very well or if his musical output will pay the price for this shift.
