Perhaps the most famous fraternity show Dave ever played was at at the Delta Kappa Epsilon's, Eta Chapter at the University of Virginia on Sept. 11th, 1992. Dave performed solo in the afternoon and was accompanied by soundman Fenton Williams.
This show is famous for a few reasons. First, it was first time Dave played four big DMB songs, including Ants Marching, solo . It was also the third and final performance ofthe song Once on a Wild Afternoon aka Destiny. But what really puts this show in the history books was Dave's improvisational blues jam of "The Penis Song." Over the course of the show, Dave made repeated references to a girl in the audiance with a penis drawn on her hand. This was probably only a shape used by security to indicate she was invited to the party and could drink alcohol. It is believed though uncertain that the above sticker is a reference to Dave's antics at this show.
For the first time, we've made available all of the show's Davespeak about the 'penis on the hand.' The following quote is assembled from clips between multiple songs from the show and spliced together as one wonderful davespeak. |
